Frequently Asked Questions

How do I register?
You can register free of charge for DigitalLook.com's comprehensive company research service. Go to our home page DigitalLook.com and click on the 'Register' button. Fill in your details and remember to select a title and a country from the drop down menus. If you are not currently in employment or don't work for a company please fill in the company boxes with relevant information eg self-employed, retired or equivalent.

Once you fill in a registration form we will process your details and provide you with a username and password within 24 hours. Please make sure that you use the correct e-mail address. If you have not received a username or password after 24 hours then it could be that you have inadvertently given us an incorrect e-mail address. If you think you have given an incorrect e-mail address then please re-register and we will send you a new username and password.

Is the DigitalLook.com service free?
DigitalLook.com provides you with free information on UK shares and funds and also international markets and shares. Some of the sources we link to require you to fill in a simple registration form. To register to receive these sources is normally free of charge, although one or two sites charge a monthly subscription to access their service. Please check the registration details when you visit these sites.

I cannot log in. What do I do?
First please try logging in again, taking care to use lowercase letters and leaving no spaces before or after the account details.

Also remember that to access some of our source sites you need to register separately with them eg Telegraph, Interactive Investor and so on. This should take a few minutes and is normally free of charge. Our password and username is for our web site only. Remember your username is usually a seven digit number and your password is usually a mixture of letters and numbers. Please take care to put the correct account details in the correct boxes.

I have forgotten my password. What do I do?
Please use our password reminder service.

Please note that for security reasons, we are only able to send your account details to the e-mail account that we have on record. If your e-mail address is not recognised it could be that you are using a different address to the one you originally used to log in with us. Please check and try again.

You don't recognise my e-mail address. What do I do?
Please note that for security reasons, we are only able to send your account details to the e-mail account that we have on record. If your e-mail address is not recognised it could be that you are using a different address to the one you originally used to log in with us. Please check and try again.

I have changed my e-mail address. What do I do?
Log-in using your password and username. Click on the 'Configure my account' link. Then select 'Change my details' on the 'My Profile' section. You can amend your e-mail address and user details.

How do I set up e-mail alerts?
Log-in using your password and username. Click on the 'Configure my account' link. Then select 'Change my details' on the 'My Alerts' section. You can then choose the types of alerts you want including customised company alerts on the shares you want to track, and market alerts based on providing a round-up of key news and information.

How do I amend or unsubscribe from e-mail alerts?
You have complete control over your own account.

Log-in using your password and username. Click on the 'Configure my account' link. Then select 'Change my details' on the 'My Alerts' section. You can then choose the type of alerts you wish to amend and switch them on and off depending on your requirements.

Can I log in without having to put in my password and username?
If you want to log in frequently to the DigitalLook.com site, but do not want the hassle of putting in your username and password every time, you can select our 'Remember Me' feature. You will see this feature on the log in page.

Please remember that if you select this option anybody else using your machine will also be able to access your DigitalLook.com account without filling in any account details. If you work in a busy office where you frequently change computers then this feature is probably not for you.

If the 'Remember Me' facility does not appear to be working, try logging on to DigitalLook.com by going directly to our home page (rather than through a book-marked link), pressing the log in link and then tick the 'Remember Me' box. When you log in again the automatic log in facility should work for you.

Please note that the 'Remember Me' facility will only work on the machine you have set it up on. If you are using different machines you should go through this process for each one.

The links in my e-mails don't appear to work?
It could be that your e-mail program is not 'wrapping' the links that we provide. In other words it is putting the links on two lines instead of one.

There should be a command on your e-mail program to accept 'wrapping'.

How do I add or delete a company from my portfolio?
You have complete control over your own account.

Log-in using your password and username. Click on the 'Configure my account' link. Then select 'Change my details' on the 'My Portfolio' section. You can then choose which companies you wish to track in your portfolio.
