Tax Assessment in Italy

Telit announces that its Italian subsidiary, Telit Communications SpA, has now received 3 VAT assessments from the Italian tax authorities in the amount of approximately €7 million plus interest and penalties, which when taken together could amount to approximately €18 million in aggregate, in connection with tax years 2005, 2006 and 2007. The assessments, which due to a recent change in the practices of the Italian tax authorities have been issued simultaneously in relation to 3 fiscal years, are wholly related to the Company's EVAR business unit which was divested in January 2008 and have no relation to the Company's current business. The Company believes it has strong arguments against the assessments to be brought before the Tax Court and intends to defend its position vigorously and further notes, as disclosed in its 2013 annual report, that it regularly receives and defends tax assessments, and has successfully defended or substantially reduced amounts claimed by the Italian tax authorities in the past.  Further announcements in relation to the assessments will be made in due course as appropriate.
