Conclusion of comprehensive review of the investment management business of Russell Investments

London Stock Exchange Group plc ("LSEG" or the "Group") today announces that it has concluded the comprehensive review of the investment management business of Russell Investments ("Russell Investment Management"), as previously announced on 26 June 2014.

The comprehensive review focused principally on assessing the strategic fit of Russell Investment Management with the Group's long term strategy. After careful consideration the conclusion of the comprehensive review is to explore a sale of this business in its entirety.

LSEG has already received a number of expressions of interest in a potential acquisition of Russell Investment Management reflecting the high quality of its business and market leading positions. A sale process of the business will now commence.  LSEG will continue to maintain Russell Investment's existing strong focus on client service and delivering its investment proposition. LSEG will also focus on maintaining management and employee continuity and providing strong support for growth and innovation across the business.

In the meantime, LSEG continues to focus on successfully integrating Russell Indexes with FTSE, delivering on the identified synergies and fully harnessing the significant opportunities that lie ahead in creating the leading global indices business.
