The Directors of BlackRock World Mining Trust plc (the ‘Company’) are pleased to announce that following the completion of the recapitalisation of Banro Corporation (‘Banro’), the Company will receive a mix of cash and common equity in Banro for its investment in the gold-linked preferred shares of Banro Group (Barbados) Limited, including accrued dividends. The transaction is expected to complete on 19 April 2017. Based on the market price of common shares of Banro as at close of business on 18 April 2017, there will be an upward revaluation of approximately £4.9 million resulting in an increase to the cum income net asset value (‘NAV’) of the Company of approximately 2.8p (circa 0.7%) and this will be reflected in the NAV at 19 April 2017 to be announced on 20 April 2017.
