TRADING UPDATE

Spire Healthcare Group plc (LSE: SPI), the major UK independent hospital group, provides the following update for the period 1 January 2017 to 25 May 2017, ahead of its AGM later today.

·     Overall Group trading during the period is in line with expectations and the Group reiterates its full year 2017 guidance as set out in our Trading Update in January 2017 and our Full Year Results statement on 2 March 2017.

·     The recovery plan for Spire St Anthony's hospital remains on track with a return to profit expected during the 2017 financial year.

·     Spire's new Manchester hospital opened for business in January and is performing satisfactorily, while Spire's new Nottingham hospital opened for business on schedule at the end of April.   All other development projects set out in our Full Year Results presentation are on budget and on schedule.

We expect to announce our results for the six months ending 30 June 2017 in September 2017.
