AUTO TRADER GROUP PLC TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Auto Trader Group plc (the "Company") announces that on 13 July 2017 it purchased through Numis Securities Ltd the following number of its ordinary shares for cancellation at an average price of 363.4528 per share:

Number of ordinary shares purchased:                                                            350,000

Highest purchase price paid per share:                                                            364.3p

Lowest purchase price paid per share:                                                            360.6p

Following the above transaction, the Company has 976,946,146 ordinary shares in issue and holds 4,201,951 ordinary shares in treasury. Therefore the total number of voting rights in the Company is 972,744,195 which may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, Auto Trader Group plc under the FCA's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rules.
