Change of Name

F&C UK High Income Trust PLC (the "Company") announces that it has changed its name to BMO UK High Income Trust PLC with immediate effect.

The Company's shares will trade under the new name on the London Stock Exchange with effect from 8.00 a.m. on 12 November 2018.

The Company's trading instrument display mnemonic ("TIDM") will change to BHI, BHIB and BHIU for the Company's Ordinary shares, B shares and Units respectively.  The ISIN and SEDOL numbers will remain unchanged.

The Company's website address will be amended to reflect the change of name and will be available at www.bmoukhighincome.com from 12 November 2018. 

Shareholders are unaffected by the change of name and existing share certificates should be retained and will remain valid.  Any new share certificates issued will bear the name BMO UK High Income Trust PLC. The investment policy and process remain unchanged with Philip Webster as Fund Manager.

Background

The Company's Manager, F&C Investment Business Limited ("F&C"), became part of the BMO Financial Group in 2014. BMO was founded over 200 years ago as Bank of Montreal and is now the eighth largest bank by assets in North America.  It provides a broad range of financial products to over 12 million customers worldwide. BMO has decided that it will now re-brand those of its savings plan products and legal entities which currently operate under the "F&C" prefix to "BMO", with its savings plans now benefiting from the scale and resources of its larger parent company.

Many of the Company's shareholders invest through the F&C savings plans.  With the F&C brand changing to BMO the Company's Board has therefore resolved that continuing to align with the brand of its Manager, as well as the savings plans, avoids unnecessary confusion, and ensures the Company maximises the benefits resulting from broader investment by BMO.
