London close: Stocks mixed as US GDP contracts

(Sharecast News) - London stocks ended Thursday on a mixed note as investors weighed geopolitical developments and fresh economic data from the United States.
The FTSE 100 index slipped 0.11% to close at 8,716.45 points, while the FTSE 250 rose 0.25% to finish at 20,997.58 points.
