White House strategist Stephen Bannon removed from National Security Council

(ShareCast News) - White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon was removed from the National Security Council as Donald Trump reshuffled the top security posts of his administration.
In parallel, the role of Tom Bossert, the White House's Homeland Security adviser, has also been downgraded, a person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News.

The responsibility for setting the agenda for meetings of the NSC and the Homeland Security Council have been passed to National Security Adviser HR McMaster.

Undoing a controversial post-election decision, the National Intelligence Director Dan Coats and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Joseph Dunford, are again members of he NSC's principals committee.

McMaster may also delegate authority to Bossert at his discretion.
