BGY Overview
British Energy, which survived bankruptcy in 2005 through a huge debt-for-equity swap, is the UK’s largest producer of electricity, generating around 20% of the nation’s needs. Its electricity is sold to the wholesale power market, while its direct supply business, British Energy Direct, deals with industrial and commercial clients in the UK.
