BB&T is a regional financial holding company that provides a wide range of banking and financial services with assets totalling around $90.5bn. The company conducts its business operations primarily through its banking subsidiaries, which operate more than 1,350 banking offices located in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Florida, Indiana and the District of Columbia.
