TECO Energy is a Tampa, Florida-based diversified energy-related holding company. Its principal businesses are: Tampa Electric, a regulated utility serving more than 600,000 customers in West Central Florida; Peoples Gas System, the largest natural gas distributor in Florida, serving more than 300,000 customers; TECO Transport, a river and ocean transportation business; TECO Coal, a coal mining operation; TECO Wholesale Generation, which owns and operates both contracted and merchant electric generation facilities in the U.S. and Central America; and TECO Solutions.
