MVV Energie AG is a Germany-based utility company whose principal activities include the procurement, sale and distribution of electricity; the ownership and operation of a natural gas grid with gas transportation and distribution systems; the supply of natural gas; the treatment and provision of tap water and the maintenance of the water distribution network; the operation of waste incineration plants, and the exploitation of biomass for energy generation. The Company also offers services such as industrial and municipal solutions, consulting activities and telecommunications solutions. It also engages in investment activities and owns shareholdings in distribution and service companies. The company is majority-owned by the municipality of Mannheim.
