DFS Overview

Spun off from Morgan Stanley in 2007, Discover Financial Services issues credit cards, both in the U.S. (Discover Card) and abroad (for example, Goldfish in the U.K., though that is to be sold to Barclays Bank in 2008). It is also an electronic payment services company, via the Discover Network and PULSE, an ATM/debit network. The company also operates the Discover Bank.
