Stocks ended the day on a mixed note, with the Dow edging higher while the other major indices pulled back a little. After a week of mostly negative sentiment, largely emanating from Europe, some encouraging economic data from the US and a rousing speech from new European Central Bank (ECB) president Mario Draghi was enough to stop the rot.
