The good news is that you can apply for a credit card directly from the Digital Look website. With comprehensive coverage of the credit card market, you can see top deals on balance transfers, low APRs and more. If you haven’t already done so, check out our Best Buys or search for a credit card using our Deal Finder.
If you do start struggling to meet your monthly repayments and repay your outstanding balance, then immediately contact your credit card issuer to explain the situation. It’s fair to say that the earlier you approach them, the more sympathetic they will be to your situation. You should probably also consider switching your card to one with lower rates and fees before the situation gets worse but if you leave it too late, you may find it impossible to be accepted by another card company.
If you are in the unfortunate position of being refused a credit card but want to enquire about your own credit circumstances, you can apply to the credit reference agency for your record. They will be able to provide a detailed analysis of your own financial position including your past repayment history, any CCJs (County Court Judgements) or defaults registered against you, electoral roll details and previous credit searches made.
