Gamesa sells Polish windpower farm to RWE

Spanish wind turbine maker Gamesa announced on Monday morning that it has sold a windpower farm in Poland, the 14MW capacity Krzecin windfarm, to energy company RWE.

The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The deal is the second by both companies in the windpower market. A year and a half earlier, Gamesa sold another 32MW capacity park in Poland.

"The agreement reinforces Gamesa's wind farm development and sale business in Eastern Europe, specifically in Poland where it has sold multiple wind energy developments in recent months and where it had a pipeline of 800 MW at the end of the first quarter of 2012," explained Gamesa.

Earlier in the day, news that Danish rival Vestas was being sold propelled Gamesa to the top of the Ibex35 though Vestas later dened the news.

By 16:58, shares were up 3.12% at €1.45.
