LONDON (ShareCast) - Directors at self storage firm Big Yellow have sold huge chunks of their holdings, just one week after making a similar sale.

Executive chairman Nicholas Vetch has sold 1m shares at 671p per share netting £6.71m. The sale, which follows a sale of 1m shares last week, leaves him with a holding of 9.41m or 8.27% of the issued share capital.

Philip Burks, property director, sold 250,000 shares at 671p for £1.67m. His stake falls to 8.76m or 7.70% of the issued share capital

Joining the sale was chief executive James Gibson who also sold 250,000 shares at the same price to net £1.67m. His stake now stands at just 2%.

The three men, who co-founded Big Yellow back in 1998, have seen shares in the group treble over the last 18 months. The group is currently in discussions with HM Revenue and Customs regarding the possibility of it converting to REIT status.

Separately Anne Heraty, chief executive of CPL Resources, has sold 2m shares in the Irish employment services firm, at €7 per share. The sale gives netted her €14m and leaves her stake at a shade under 13m.

Heraty still retains a major stake in the group at 34.8% of the issued share capital, exclusive of the interests of her husband Paul Carroll.
