London pre-open: Footsie set to recover

LONDON (ShareCast) - London's leading shares are expected to start the week higher, after an unimpressive close to the week with US markets closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Spread betting firms predict that the FTSE 100 index will start around 11 points higher.

Stocks expected to be on the move today include Europe’s largest airline British Airways as it reports November traffic figures.

No frills airlines EasyJet and Ryanair also report on passenger figures after they increased flights and added more routes.

Electrical components group Acal will deliver first half earnings ended 30 September.

Scottish brewer and pub operator Belhaven will post earnings for the six months ended 28 September.

BTG, which had tests for its new varicose vein treatment Varisolve stopped by the US Food & Drug Administration will deliver first half earnings ended 30 September.

Premier football group Manchester United is expected to report that has renewed a sponsorship deal with Vodafone, according to the Guardian.

Logistics group Christian Salvesen will post first half figures ended 30 September.
