EADS expects more deliveries, higher earnings in 2012

EADS subsidiary Airbus expects more aeroplanes to be delivered and considerable earnings growth this year compared to 2011, said chief financial officer Peter Ring in an interview with German daily Die Welt on Saturday.

Ring said that European banks are being a reliable source of financing for the purchase of aircraft, which guarantees payments for the upcoming months.

Hans Peter Ring, who will be replaced in late May by Harald Wilheim, also commented that helicopter division Eurocopter will register growth this year and space division Astrium will improve profitability. Significant growth is not expected at the group's defence division Cassidien although profits are expected to remain stable.

Ring stated that EADS will reach its full-year goals of 4% sales growth and adjusted operating earnings of more than the €1.45bn registered in 2011. The company will present its results on March 8.

Shares of EADS are down 1% to €27.26.
