Linde to be sworn in as Bank of Spain Governor

Luis Maria Minde will be sworn in as the new Bank of Spain governor late today.

Spanish President Mariano Rajoy is expected to be in attendance as well as King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia.

Linde will take his position at the central bank after Rajoy told the nation that the Spanish bank rescue was a "good thing" for the country.

Additionally, Fernando Restoy, the current vice-president of Spanish market regulator CNMV (Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores), will be named Lieutenant Governor for the Bank of Spain. He will replace Javier Ariztegui as agreed to by Rajoy and Socialist party leader Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba.
