The Russia-focused gold miner, Trans-Siberian Gold, says it is still struggling with poor ore quality at its operations in the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia’s far east.
The company now proposes to introduce a technique known as shallow hole blasting to increase the amount of gold in the rocks that are sent for processing.
The company now estimates that 2012 production will be 31,000 ounces of gold and 48,500 ounces of silver.
Shares were down 3.7% at 52p in afternoon trade.
