Verizon reported to sell Nokia Windows 8 mobile this year

Verizon Wireless is planning to sell a new Nokia mobile that will include Microsoft’s Windows 8 platform, according to a source cited by Bloomberg.

If confirmed, it would be Nokia’s first Windows-based device in over a year.

Microsoft and Nokia could announce the event at the press conference to be held on September 5th.

According to the news agency, Verizon’s purpose would be to lessen its dependence on Apple’s iPhone or other mobiles that use Google’s Android software.

Nokia currently trades up 2.46% to €2.33.
