LONDON (ShareCast) - Anglo Platinum, which is majority owned by mining giant Anglo American, will appoint Neville Nicolau as chief executive officer with effect from 1 June.
The 48-year-old has worked for AngloGold Ashanti, holding a number of senior executive positions, including chief operating officer.
"I am delighted that we have appointed Neville Nicolau to lead Anglo Platinum at this important time for the company and the industry," said Anglo Platinum chairman Fred Phaswana,
Anglo American chief executive Cynthia Carroll commented: "I am confident that Neville's operational focus will enable Anglo Platinum to capitalise on its significant upside potential and extend its operational and financial excellence in a safe environment."
Norman Mbazima has been appointed CEO of Scaw Metals, Anglo American's international diversified steel products business, but will continue as CFO of Anglo Platinum until a successor is found.
Duncan Wanblad has been appointed as CEO of Copper in the Base Metals division of Anglo American from 1 July.
