LONDON (ShareCast) - Barclays is having another tough day as broker Citigroup warned it could face more heavy write-downs on its loan book.

The broker said that if Barclays took the same level of provisions as Royal Bank of Scotland it could have to write-off another £9bn.

Oil companies are the best performers as the price of crude hit a new record of $142 per barrel. Tullow, Cairn and BG lead the risers. Cruise operator and big fuel user Carnival leads the fallers.
