LONDON (ShareCast) - Aerospace and defence contractor Ultra Electronics said its controls business has been awarded a contract by Gulfstream Aerospace to develop and supply the landing gear control system for its new Gulfstream G650 business jet.
The contract is for a system that senses and manages the position of the aircraft landing gear and landing gear doors and is similar to systems that Ultra already designs to other aircraft manufacturers. The contract is expected to be worth in excess of £10m.
In a separate statement, Ultra said its Canadian Tactical Communication Systems business has won US Army contracts worth $100m since the start of 2008.
The contracts are for the supply of upgraded versions of its High Capacity Line of Sight (HCLOS). The awards have been made by the Canadian Commercial Corporation acting on behalf of the US Department of Defense.
