WPP acquires Brazilian healthcare research company
Kantar Health, WPP's wholly-owned healthcare consulting firm, has acquired a Brazilian healthcare research company.
Evidências, which in 2013 generated revenue of R$5.8m, was founded in 1998 and employs 22 people.
Working with all segments of the Brazilian healthcare market, the business provides consultancy and research services in pharmacoeconomic studies and analysis, local dossier submission packages, professional writing, market access and training.
"The acquisition expands Kantar Health's presence in an important fast-growth market and provides the company with new capabilities in cost effectiveness and budget impact economic models," the group said.
"It also continues WPP's strategy of investing in fast growing markets and its commitment to developing its strategic networks throughout the dynamic Brazilian market."
It added that the investment would strengthen the capabilities of its data investment management division, which aims to become "the pre-eminent provider of compelling and inspirational" insights for the global business community.
