LONDON (ShareCast) - Building maintenance group Interserve saw healthy growth in the first half of 2008 in line with expecations.
The performance of Project Services’ operations in the Middle East has been especially noteworthy, with a number of contracts won. “The indications are that this market will remain
strong for the foreseeable future,” the company said.
The Project and Facilities Services businesses in the UK have expanded, though there have been indications of uncertainties in a limited number of market sectors.
Equipment Services has traded strongly, helped by stronger market conditions in Australasia and further growth in the Middle East.
The group has 21 fully operational Private Finance Initiative or Private/Public Partnership projects on the go and investment commitment in a total of 26.
“The board remains confident that the group's exposure to buoyant international markets, together with our strong and growing position in UK social infrastructure and outsourcing, will underpin continued progress,” the group said.
In a separate announcement the group said the Interserve consortium, which includes Spanish company Acciona and Atkins Water, has won a £50m contract from Thames Water to build the Thames Gateway Water Treatment Plant.
