Optare appoints former Tory MP as deputy chairman
Bus designer and manufacturer Optare has announced the appointment of former Conservative Member of Parliament Steve Norris to its board as deputy chairman.

A former Under-Secretary of State for Transport and Minister for Transport in London, Norris twice unsuccessfully ran for the job as Mayor of London, before standing down from Parliament at the 1997 General Election to pursue business interests.
"I am very pleased to welcome Steven to the company. He brings a wealth of experience in the public transport sector to the role,” group chairman John Fickling said in a statement.
“Steven's appointment will be pivotal to Optare working with the Government organisations and the UK Bus Industry to implement cleaner and greener public transport in the UK."
Optare shares were down 13.33% to 0.13p at 15:44 on Monday.
