LONDON (ShareCast) - Shares in SQS Software Quality Systems edged higher after the software testing company announced it had won two new contracts.

SQS has been awarded a contract by a German car manufacturer to provide quality assurance services to the software development of a new generation of two car models.

Typically, the gestation period for new models is about four years, but SQS said there is scope for the service to be extended for future complex assistance systems.

The company has also won a four-year contract with an international oil and gas company in a deal expected to produce revenues of €2m.

“Following on from the recent contract win with Anglo Irish Bank, these contracts confirm that SQS's client base is truly cross sector, and that independent quality assurance and software testing is an essential component of software development programmes across many industries,” said Rudolf van Megen, chief executive of SQS.
