The company started accepting orders for its new tablet TV in the US since last month and plans to launch an advertising and marketing campaign on Thursday with a target of 1m unique viewers per week.
The tablet allows viewers to watch Freeview channels, record programmes for time-shifted viewing and red-button services and is available on the Apple App store. Amazon will provide the new orders.
Motive TV said the investment gives potential for “significant uplift” in the company’s revenues over the next few years.
Chief executive Leonard Fertig said: "The launch of Tablet TV in the US has been planned for months and now that it becomes a reality represents a major milestone event for Motive TV.
“Tablet TV has the potential to attract millions of users in the United States according to independent market research, and this is the exciting first step on this journey."
