Manufacturing cools in February in NY Fed's district
Manufacturing activity in the Federal Reserve bank of New York's jurisdiction cooled in February.
The regional Fed bank's gauge of activity slipped to a reading of 7.78 points from the previous month's tally of 9.95.
The consensus forecast was for a reading of 9.
A sub-index of new orders fell back to 1.22 from 6.09, while a barometre tracking prices paid increased to 14.61 from 12.63.
The sub-index for current levels of staffing dropped to 10.11 from 13.68, while another one linked to the length of the average work week increased to -1.12 from -8.42.
