British Airways said traffic, measured in revenue passenger kilometres, fell by 3.5% in July as non-premium journeys fell
Passenger load factor fell 5.4 percentage points to 75.8%. Traffic comprised a 0.4% increase in premium traffic and a 4.1% fall in non-premium traffic.
Passenger capacity in the same month, measured in available seat kilometres, was 3.5% above the same month last year.
"Market conditions for the industry remain very difficult on the back of high oil prices and a weak economic environment. Longhaul premium remains broadly flat versus last year while non-premium bookings remain most sensitive to price changes," said the group.
