BAE Systems hires banks to examine divisional disposal
After receiving some takeover interest, BAE Systems confirmed it was pondering a disposal of its US-based manpower and services businesses, which operates in the US intelligence and security (I&S) sector.
The company has engaged external advisors to support a strategic assessment of these businesses, it said.
BAE, which recently approached senior government figures to ask permission to hire a foreign chief executive for the first time, insisted it was not looking to sell it technology- or product-focused geospatial intelligence business nor its cyber security and intelligence business, BAE Systems Applied Intelligence.
"There can be no certainty that any transaction will occur," it added.
