LONDON (ShareCast) - Irish low cost airliner Aer Lingus has appointed Colm Barrington as chairman to replace current incumbent John Sharman.
Barrington, who is the chief executive of Irish based aircraft leasing company Babcock and Brown Air, will be appointed to the board in September and will then assume the role of chairman.
He is currently a non-executive director of the Dublin Airport Authority, from which position he will be resigning prior to assuming the role of chairman at Aer Lingus.
"The board wishes to thank Mr. Sharman for the huge role he has played in transforming Aer Lingus into a publicly quoted company, with a very strong balance sheet which is well placed to prosper in the challenging times ahead," said the group.
