LONDON (ShareCast) - Engineer Invensys has paid $52m in cash for privately owned SAT Corporation, a Houston-based mobile solutions company.

SAT's IntelaTrac Enterprise Suite provides configurable software and hardware solutions that allow remote workflow, procedural and general task management within industrial plants.

The UK firm’s Wonderware business unit will form a new mobile solutions group “that will further expand on SAT's position as a leading global supplier of mobile workforce management solutions, improving mobile production workers' procedural efficiencies within industrial and manufacturing markets.”

“It enables Wonderware to use its global distribution channels to offer IntelaTrac across its installed base of over 125,000 plants worldwide,” said Invensys boss Ulf Henriksson.
