LONDON (ShareCast) - Aviation firm Dart Group is “very encouraged” by its current trading performance, a statement revealed today.

The distribution business is trading in line with expectations, said chairman Philip Meeson, despite the poor summer weather hurting distribution volumes from traditional summer foods.

The greater emphasis on leisure destinations within Jet2.com's flying programme has had a positive impact on both yield and load factor at the aviation unit.

“Revenues have been further boosted by strong late demand; this, combined with careful cost control and strong growth in charter flying, has resulted in an improved operating margin in this business, which is expected to continue for the year as a whole,” added Meeson.
