LONDON (ShareCast) - Adwalker, the company that pays people to wear jackets with LCD screens displaying advertising, reported an 11% rise in turnover in the year to 28 February and said it was confident it would survive the current challenging economic climate.

Turnover from continuing operations rose to €1.8m from €1.6m the previous year, helping to reduce losses to €2.4m from €3.2m.

Miner Angus and Ross said it had made steady progress towards re-opening its zinc and lead mine in West Greenland as it reported a slight reduction in full-year losses to £4.3m.

Delays in re-opening the mine shouldn’t impact the mine’s long-term value too much given current low prices for zinc and lead, the company said.

Australian oil and gas firm Rheochem reported a 4.2% rise in full-year revenue to A$30.4m and a 31.7% rise in pre-tax profits to A$5.9m. It said it was keeping market share against competition from bigger rivals.

Marketing technology group Z Group reported full year losses of £4.9m compared with £632,000 in 2007 after it was hit by the commercial failure of its file sharing platform OnShare.

Flooding across major US grain-producing states in June pushed up agricultural commodity prices, contributing to a 4.81% rise in commodity derivatives company Ceres Agricultural Fund’s net asset value over the second quarter to $1.09 per share.

The appreciation of China’s currency against sterling helped property investor China Real Estate Opportunities report an 18% rise in the value of its portfolio to £712m in the year to June 30.

Commercial Property Group said it was fortunate to have strong ties with the expanding Chinese economy as it reported interim pre-tax losses of £7.8m from £446,000 a year ago due to the reduction in value of its UK portfolio.

Kenmare Resources, which owns and operates the Moma titanium minerals mine in Mozambique, is to raise £16.4m via a placing at 32p a share.

It said the proceeds will be used to help it increase the production rate at the Moma mine to achieve production targets.
