In March, the FTSE 250 company announced that Flower, who had chaired the group for 10 years, would step down from his role and would be succeeded by Frew, the then non-executive director and designate chairman.
"On behalf of the Board and all my Croda colleagues, I would like to thank Martin Flower for his support and outstanding contribution he has made to Croda over the last ten years," said group executive Steve Foots.
Croda shares were down 0.15% to 2,691.00p at 0902 BST on Monday.
