French GDP growth confirmed at 0.5% in second quarter
France's economy continued to expand at a steady clip over the three months to June on the back of strong growth in fixed asset investment and exports.
Gross domestic product in the Eurozone's second-largest economy increased at a 0.5% pace quarter-on-quarter for a third successive three-month stretch, INSEE said, confirming an preliminary estimate.
Nevertheless, in year-on-year terms the country's statistics authority revised its growth estimate up from 1.7% to 1.8%.
In quarterly rates of change, household consumption was 0.3% higher and public spending by 0.4%.
However, gross capital formation rose by 0.9% with foreign trade rising by 0.6%.
