Support services group Spice today announced that chief executive Simon Rigby is to step down to pursue other business interests.
"He has informed the board that he feels the group has achieved a size and position where it is appropriate for a new style of chief executive to take over the leadership," said Spice in a company statement.
As a result Spice has named Martin Towers as interim chief executive with immediate effect.
Previously Towers was finance director at Kelda for five years to 2008 and has been a non-executive director of Spice since June 2009.
