Our goals is to extend the benefits of connectivity to diverse, local communities
“Our goal with Internet.org is to work with as many developers and entrepreneurs as possible to extend the benefits of connectivity to diverse, local communities. To do this, we’re going to offer services through Internet.org in a way that’s more transparent and inclusive,” Facebook said on Monday.
The move is part of a strategy that to attract potential customers. "This is a set of basic websites and services to introduce people to the value of the Internet," the company pointed out.
It is also a response to recent criticism against the social media giant's project, which has been accused in countries like India of not respecting the neutrality of the internet.
