The Michigan-based global automaker said on Wednesday that the recalls, which involve 2011 to 2013 Ford Taurus and Flex, Lincoln MKS and MKT, 2011 to 2012 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ and 2011 Mercury Milan models, followed reports of four minor accidents that did not involve injuries.
The vehicles had “a potential intermittent electrical connection in the steering gear that might result in the loss of electric power steering assist while driving,” the company said in a statement.
Ford shares were up 0.56% to $15.27 at 15:37 on Wednesday.
