Nintendo expects over £17m a month from new mobile games
Japanese technology giant Nintendo and mobile and online gaming firm DeNA have high hopes from the deal the pair signed last month.
DeNa chief Isao Moriyasu said on Wednesday that he expects its new partnership with Nintendo will yield titles that could bring in over ¥3bn (£17m) a month, according to Reuters.
This statement comes the same day that Nintendo is expected to make public its latest product releases via the Nintendo Direct an online presentation, where the company will announce the newest games for its Wii U and 3DS consoles.
Mobile and online games developer DeNa and Nintendo, which is famous for its Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart and Wii Sports games, entered into a business and capital alliance in March in order to develop new game apps for smart devices.
Nevertheless, the companies did not comment any details of the revenue-sharing agreement, although some experts have calculated that Nintendo could earn 70% of the profits.
Both companies stressed the fact that this union is a combination of “the strength of Nintendo's intellectual property (IP) and game development skills in combination with DeNa's world-class expertise in mobile games”.
