Silicon Valley entrepreneur Dave Goldberg dies
Dave Goldberg, the Silicon Valley entrepreneur, has passed away suddenly, it was announced over the weekend.
Goldberg was the chief executive of online poll company, SurveyMonkey, and the husband of Facebook's chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg.
His unexpected death, at the age of 47, was announced by his brother, Robert, who wrote on Facebook: "It's with incredible shock and sadness that I'm letting our friends and family know that my amazing brother, Dave Goldberg, beloved husband of Sheryl Sandberg, father of two wonderful children, and son of Paula Goldberg, passed away suddenly last night."
Goldberg was credited with the huge expansion of SurveyMonkey, which according to the Wall Street Journal, has a value $2bn.
The company released a statement saying: "Dave’s genius, courage and leadership were overshadowed only by his compassion, friendship and heart."
