Bribery scandal to 'change the country forever', says Brazilian President Rousseff
Oil firm Petroleo Brasileiro SA has been embroiled in a corruption scandal that could permanently affect Brazil, President Dilma Rousseff said on Sunday.
Several high-ranking officials from various high profile construction and engineering companies were arrested on Friday.
One executive in charge of some of Petrobas’s largest contracts was also arrested. Police have been probing the state-run firm for money-laundering and alleged bribery.
At the G20 summit in Brisbane, Rousseff said: “This may change the country forever. How? By ending impunity.”
