Aer Lingus passenger numbers decline in November
The number of passengers carried by Aer Lingus fell in November, reflecting a planned reduction in the carrier’s short haul capacity.

The Irish airline said it carried a total of 702,000 passengers in November, a 3.6% decline year-on-year.
Short haul traffic fell 9.1% to 509,000 passengers, while long haul traffic rose by 28.4% to 104,000 compared to the corresponding period in 2013.
Load factor – a crucial gauge in the airline industry, which monitors how many seats are filled on each flight – registered 0.7% decline overall to 72.6%. Load factor on short haul flights was stable at 68.6%, while the parameter declined to 76.3% from 80% on longer routes.
Aer Lingus said the number of passengers on its regional services, which are operated by Stobart Air, rose 2.2% to 89,000, while the total number of passenger carried between January and November was up 3.7% to 10.4m.
Aer Lingus shares were 3.76% up to €1.79 at 09:44 on Thursday.
