Tube strikes set to go ahead this Wednesday, TfL confirms
London commuters are set for major travel disruptions this week after Transport for London confirmed that members of four transport unions are planning a 24-hour strike on the Tube starting Wednesday afternoon.
RMT, Unite and TSSA members are set to stage a strike from 18:30 on 8 July, while ASLEF drivers are also planning action from 21:30 that day, amid ongoing disputes over pay and the operation of the Night Tube.
DLR, London Overground and TfL Rail staff will not be on strike.
TfL warned in a statement: “If the strike goes ahead, there will be no Tube service from late afternoon on Wednesday 8 July and no Tube service at all on Thursday 9 July.
“All other public transport services and roads will be much busier than usual, so please check before you travel.”
