Buzzfeed brings $100m in revenue early in 2014
Buzzfeed chief executive officer Jonah Peretti has revealed that the online publication brought in $100m in revenue “earlier this year”.
In an email sent out to staff members, Peretti also announced the company would hand out Apple Watches to all staff members if certain targets are hit.
According to Capital, the online publication, who received the e-mail via Peretti chief of staff Ashley McCollum, if Buzzfeed manages to grab 200m unique users and 750m video hits in the same month they will receive the new device.
Peretti said: "BuzzFeed has a tradition of celebrating milestones and I'm excited to explain how we'll celebrate the next one.”
"It might happen this month, it might take a few months, but if we keep pushing hard and doing great work it won't be long before we can all synchronize our heart beats."
The Apple Watch is set for a 2015 launch and promises several new features, including the ability to send its wearer’s heartbeat to friends and family via in-built sensors.
