According to Sky News, the approaches were made by "a number of unidentified third parties".
The division, which contributes just 4% to the FTSE 100 company's sales, is seen by investors as being non-core.
The publication received a statement from the company stating: "Diageo has a great wine business with great brands that are growing. We are sure there are many people who would love to own our wine business and we have received expressions of interest over the years.
"As you would expect we have a duty to consider any such interest carefully."
The news comes after the group last month revealed a surprise 0.7% drop in third-quarter sales.
